Please note that these are merely my opinions and do not reflect those who do indeed work on such sites. Like I say below, if they do work for you, I congratulate you and I wish you continued success through the years.
And I bet you're asking me "what", exactly. "Do paid affiliate programs really work?"
I decided to give them a try. Like many, I'd love to earn some extra income. Would I love to earn a lot of extra income, like those in the entertainment business? Who wouldn't!! ^_^ But, a lot of us don't, so we work regular jobs.
The web is full of "get rich quick" schemes. Do those really work? Are the stories real? They don't seem legit to me (however, if they truly are real, my hat goes off to those who have made a good source of income from them). They offer a lot of information and a lot of flash, but you also have to PAY in order to get the goods. And that's where the scams come in.
No one likes scams. I know that sites who say that they'll pay you mean well, but money is no laughing matter, no matter how much one makes. Sites like that need to be truthful up front. There is no quick and easy way to make money on-line. If so, we'd ALL be rich.
I've read a lot of those types of sites. Sadly, I got suckered in twice (Survey Scout (do not give them your $34.95. You will not get your money back) and Money Orders Only). Lots of money down the drain. Not going to happen again. Thanks to SiteAdvisor, and reading what others have to say, most of those sites are indeed scams.
I decided to look into paid affiliate sites. They are a breath of fresh air. They are truthful: patience is a virtue. You won't be making thousands in mere moments, as soon as you sign-up, like some other high paying sites claim, you know, "if you don't make your membership fee within your first few hours, we'll pay you back!!" That is, of course, you actually GET something in return after you pay, you know?
I even tried MANY of those "get paid to read e-mails", you know, those ones that are "this e-mail is worth $5-$10-$20" and so on (but they really aren't). Those are tiresome. You don't even get paid ONE CENT per e-mail. On average? 1/4 OF A PENNY. Before you even get paid, you have to stay an active member for a WHILE. As soon as you make your allotted amount, you can request for payment. No idea, when, though. Oh, don't get me wrong. The sites are well made. Some are cute, but really. Reading e-mail after e-mail that are only worth not even 1 cent is hardly worth it (but, I cannot stress enough that if it DOES work for you, congrats!) According to this well informed site, they do not work.
The follow links are not employment opportunities nor are they get-rich-quick schemes to make money. They're for anyone and everyone who wish to make extra income on the side. I read their sites throughly. Even though I've just signed up, I'm going to see how it goes. I'm not expecting to make loads of money within one year. Making some extra cash on the side is good for one and all.
I know that many people do toss away those (example) "watch satellite TV on your PC!!" e-mails but that's a way for people who have signed up to become part of an affiliate program to make some extra cash. No one has to buy the product. If you click on the banner or link, the person gets paid. That's a Paid Per Click. If it's part of a Paid Per Click program. I'm part of one of those as well.
